Wayzata Light Up the Lake
Wayzata kicks off the holiday season on Lake Street with Light Up the Lake, a free celebration for all ages. This year it’s one week earlier than usual, on the Friday before Thanksgiving.
Schedule
- 5:00 pm: Children’s Candy Hunt at Depot Park (ages 5 and under)
- 5:00 to 7:00 pm: Free glow light wands on Lake Street (handed out before the parade only), llama photos at Depot Park, hot cider and treats and a Reindeer Food activity inside the Historic Wayzata Depot, Letters to Santa and Muni refreshments at Panoway Plaza, horse-drawn wagon rides, and strolling carolers on Lake Street
- 5:45 pm: Wayzata Firefighters’ Parade of Lights on Lake Street, from Broadway to Barry Avenue
- After the parade: Town Lighting Ceremony with the Mayor at Panoway Plaza
Bring a donation
Bring a new toy for the Wayzata Police Department’s Toys for Tots collection and a non-perishable food item for the IOCP food drive. IOCP especially needs brand-name boxed cereal, canned tuna, toilet paper, hearty soup and spaghetti sauce in plastic jars.
Winter Medallion Hunt
Kids 12 and under can hunt for the hidden medallion using clues posted November 9 to 13 on the City of Wayzata and Wayzata Chamber websites and social media. The first child or family to find it gets to light up Wayzata on November 20.
